  • Prepare for study at university, polytechnic or private training establishments in New Zealand or other English-speaking countries.

To prepare for study in New Zealand university, you need to develop your language skills for more than just fulfilling the admission requirements of your university course. The aims of Languages International’s English for University (EU) course are to improve your English so that you can start your course feeling confident and comfortable, and give yourself the best chance of success; and at the same time, to help you fulfill university admission requirements through the English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment (APA), without having to sit any other English exams.

Entry requirements

Your English level must be strong intermediate or upper intermediate (equivalent to IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL iBT 46 / PTE 45) to enter the EU course. Take our pre-test (https://www.languages.ac.nz/courses/test-your-english/) to check your level.

  • Student Services: Our friendly Student Services team is always ready to give you information, advice and other practical help.
  • Counsellors: You will meet a counsellor who speaks your language on your first day at Languages International, and can get their help any time during your course.
  • Accommodation: We arrange your accommodation before you come to New Zealand and our Accommodation staff are always available at school to help you after you arrive.
  • Social Programme: Our range of social, sporting, cultural and tourist activities during the week and at the weekends will give you new experiences, new friends and more chances to speak English in the real world.
