New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) Level 4

The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) (Level 4) is a 17-week programme offered by Seafield School of English, designed to equip learners with the English proficiency required for academic study and professional environments. The course comprises 20 hours of classroom instruction per week, with class sizes limited to a maximum of 25 students to ensure focused and personalised learning. Students will develop advanced skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing within academic contexts, preparing them for tasks such as engaging with lectures and delivering presentations. Successful completion of this certificate provides a pathway to further tertiary education (bachelor level) and enhances employment opportunities in English-speaking settings.

We also provide a free online English language placement test for this programme.

An IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent or sit our free online English placement test offered weekly.

Our city campus is right next to the Auckland SkyCity Tower and consists of 2 levels 16 classrooms, large computer lab and an open student space.   General English classes have morning, afternoon and evening sessions for you to choose from.  Enrolments of 14 weeks or more will receive in-study work rights of up to 20 hours a week on a student visa.  We alos cater for short-term study for those on working holiday visas.

Our NZCEL programmes levels 4 and 5 were the first to be permanently approved by NZQA to be delivered online/offshore and we have multiple classes delivered online to students in their home country also.
