The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Applied) (Level 3) is a 16-week programme designed to develop learners鈥 English proficiency for academic, community, and workplace settings in New Zealand. Delivered by Seafield School of English, the course focuses on applied language use, strengthening skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Learners attend 20 contact hours per week in classes capped at a maximum of 25 students, ensuring personalised attention and an engaging learning environment. Graduates will be equipped to understand and communicate using moderately complex language, and may progress to NZCEL Level 4 (Academic), a recognised pathway into Level 5, 6, and 7 tertiary programmes.

Our city campus is right next to the Auckland SkyCity Tower and consists of 2 levels 16 classrooms, large computer lab and an open student space. General English classes have morning, afternoon and evening sessions for you to choose from. Enrolments of 14 weeks or more will receive in-study work rights of up to 20 hours a week on a student visa. We alos cater for short-term study for those on working holiday visas.
Our NZCEL programmes levels 4 and 5 were the first to be permanently approved by NZQA to be delivered online/offshore and we have multiple classes delivered online to students in their home country also.
